Thanksgiving 2006 In My Hometown!

Yum...yumm!! Roast Turkey with all the trimmings of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner! Wouldn't be Thanksgiving without homemade pumpkin pie! I baked 4 pies...2 pecan and 2 pumpkin. Loved it! It was so much fun! We spent Thanksgiving at my sister's this year. She has a gorgeous place out in the country down the road from where we grew up. Her home is surrounded by Oak trees and open land. I love visiting with her! I don't get to see her as often as I'd like to. I love her place! It's so extremely peaceful. I love the sights and sounds here at her place. I included a view that she has from outside her bedroom window and also a view from her driveway. Love it! I hope to post more soon of my hometown. I have a few more pics that I'd like to share. Enjoy!

Happy thougts to all!! Bye!,

Sandra

Great pictures! All that food looks scrumptious!!! and I agree w/ Roger, that photo of the road is awesome. It's the kind of place one craves to be when stuck in the middle of big city life. Now I can just check out this pic and picture myself strolling down that road, enjoying the peace & quiet. Miles and miles away (literally and figuratively) from LA's 5 freeway during rush hour! Thanks!!!!

Hi Countrygirl! The place is so lovely! Love the wide open spaces and no crowds nor developments. Just trees and the lonely road. Essence of the place well captured in the photos.

Food looks very mouth-watering cuz that's what its doing to me just looking at it.

Thanks for sharing and look forward to the other pictures.

Sending you lots of happy thoughts from Malaysia... and hoping you could send a pie this way.. hehe.

Hi Guys and Gals!!! My goodness...these responses are really making me SMILE!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!!

Can you believe I couldn't decide whether to stay or to go? What made me finally decide to go was, of course that I really wanted to see my family and home, but the main reason was that I was dying to take some photos of home!! I really wanted to share some! It makes me so happy to know that you guys and gals are enjoying them!

Hey Rog! I'm so sad that I didn't get to see you but I sure am glad that we had that long chat! I was thoroughly enjoying the view while we chatted! That country road is right outside our sister's driveway. Way too cool! Thanks for the sweet words!

Hi Anthony!! I'm sooo happy that you liked the pictures! I was dying to go home and snap some photos and I finally made it over there! I took my neice and my son with me on the snapshot adventure! It was so much fun! Your sweet comments and thoughtful words are greatly appreciated and very precious to me!! Reading them makes me smile big! Yes, the food was scrumptious!! The majority of it was made from scratch! Can you believe that country road is right outside my sister's driveway? I love it out there! I too crave to be there often! It's extemely peaceful and really beautiful. These pics are of good ol' Elmendorf, Tx...miles and miles away from the busy, big city life of L.A. , yes, but here for you to enjoy whenever you want! : ) You are very welcome! Again, I'm so happy that you are enjoying them! I'll post more of home soon! I'm looking forward to the next time I can return home again and snap some more photos and enjoy the peacefulness of those country roads! Bye and thanks again!

Hi Ladyhawk! Thanks so much! Food was most definitely scrumptious! It is a lovely place to escape to! I will cherish where I grew up always!
